The wife and I are very pleased with this purchase . The bathtub is everything we
expected . It took us an hour to learn and understand how to operate the controls
but once we got the hang of it , we find it very easy . I was amazed how fast and
easy the Installation proceeded . My wife is so impressed with the lights and
especially how well the water heater works , she has a problem leaving the bathtub .

Can this tub be combined with a conventional shower head as well?

Yes it can be used with a conventional shower head as well. All of the electronics are totally sealed and unaffected by any water hitting the controls

Specs indicate that there is no open panel. How do u access motor if needed?

This tub does not have a removable front skirt, it is accessed from the Head end (where pump is located) or backside of tub. The head end and backside of tub are open. This bathtub is a free standing tub with a full metal frame underneath it so if you are not able to put an access panel you can just pull it away from the wall to service and then push back into place.
